"Business After Hours"

July 11, 2026

Country Living at Westview Commons welcomed more than 120 residents, business owners, community leaders, and friends for the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce's “Business After Hours” this past week. The celebration transformed an evening of networking into a celebration of hospitality, friendship, and community.

From the moment guests began arriving, they were invited to experience life at Country Living at Westview Commons firsthand. Guided tours showcased the community's thoughtfully designed amenities, including the popular Picturedrome Theater, the Family Gathering Center, the Americana Cafe, and all the spaces that residents proudly call home.

The salon at Westview Commons was modified into a temporary relaxation space, where guests enjoyed complimentary ten-minute chair massages. In Westview Commons’ centrally located Great Room, the Dietary Department of Country Living at Westview Commons showcased their culinary expertise with an impressive assortment of house-made appetizers, desserts, and drinks. Patrons sampled bites and beverages while nestled into Harrington's Pub, the community's inviting gathering place within The Great Room.

Friendly competition added to the evening's lively atmosphere as guests tested their skills in pool, cornhole, and soccer tournaments—with gift cards from locally owned businesses being awarded to the night's champions. The games sparked laughter, conversation, and plenty of good-natured encouragement; creating an atmosphere where networking felt less like business and more like neighbors enjoying an evening together.

Adding another memorable element to the celebration, one of Broadway Live Productions' biggest and brightest voices—Allison Welz—took center stage in front of the assembled audience. Allison entertained the audience with an energetic live performance that filled The Great Room with familiar Broadway favorites and served as the soundtrack to an evening already resplendent with smiles, conversation, and new connections.

The spirit of collaboration was reflected throughout the evening by the leadership of the Northeast Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. Amy Brunet, President of the Chamber's Board of Directors, welcomed the assembled guests and spoke to the importance of cultivating business relationships throughout the region. Executive Director Elle Sherman—whose vibrant leadership illuminates opportunities for connections across Northeastern Connecticut—brightened the room with her welcoming presence. Together with fellow Chamber representatives, they fostered an atmosphere where initial introductions quickly become meaningful conversations.

While the Northeast Connecticut Chamber of Commerce provided the occasion, the true hosts of the evening were the residents of Country Living at Westview Commons. Residents, Chamber members, business owners, and community guests celebrated together while enjoying the entertainment, engaging in friendly competition, touring the community, and discovering the welcoming atmosphere that defines everyday life at Country Living at Westview Commons.
