"The Singing Trooper"

March 20, 2024

On Monday, March 18, we were happy to host our friend Daniel M. Clark—“The Singing Trooper”—as he paid a verdant vocal visit to the residents of Country Living at Westview Commons. A Veteran of The United States Marine Corps, Daniel continued to serve his fellow Americans as a Massachusetts State Trooper following his military duty. The Singing Trooper has performed the National Anthem and other patriotic standards at a variety of services and ceremonies for fellow military personnel and state police. Following his retirement from the Massachusetts State Police in 2005, Daniel pursued his passion for singing with full commitment.

The Singing Trooper has been featured on numerous television programs, in poignant military dedications, and during a wide variety of sporting events. He is very proud that his resumé includes delivering The National Anthem at Gillette Stadium in advance of the New England Patriots’ return to football play following the September 11, 2001 attacks on The United States, performing “God Bless America” during the 2013 World Series at Fenway Park in front of adoring Boston Red Sox fans, for the faithful followers of the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics at TD Garden—and 30 years of performing the “Star Spangled Banner” to open the Boston Marathon!

During The Singing Trooper’s performance, many of our residents joined in vocalizing with him as he carried along in song. Daniel’s choral repertoire included many classic, patriotic numbers from the American songbook and several well-known ballads celebrating Irish heritage. He is a consummate, compassionate performer who always makes sure that he connects with his audience on a deep level. Kindly, he gives context for each of the songs he delivers, to explain how he finds it vitally important to take patriotic pride in his performances, and to offer laughter and levity whenever possible to ensure an abundance of audience smiles. We are so thankful that Daniel M. Clark, “The Singing Trooper,” regaled us with St. Patrick’s Day glee for his third concert at Westview Commons. We look forward to seeing him again in his next appearance at our Dayville, CT residential facility!
