Rainey Earns Employee of the Month

August 20, 2021

Beth Rainey earned the honor of Country Living at Westview Commons’ Employee of the Month in July. As a member of the hospitality staff, she has direct interaction with dozens of the residents during the dining hours and this distinction shows that Beth’s service is a highlight of their day. The custom cuisine offered during the three mealtimes has become one of the most talked about elements for the residents of Westview Commons. This is owed to the skilled teamwork between the kitchen staff and the service staff to make sure that every dish is served just right. Beth not only contributes to this pursuit with direct reactions to individual orders, but by also beginning to know some of the residents’ preferences and needs. Her anticipation of these dining choices makes the mealtime experience even more relaxed for Westview Commons’ residents.

Beth’s service is a highlight of their day...

Beth is a proud graduate of the Woodstock Academy class of 2011. In addition to working towards the benefit of the residents’ experience in her role at Westview Commons, Beth is also working towards her certification in Medical Billing & Coding at Quinebaug Valley Community College. She appreciates working alongside the staff at Westview Commons and Westview Health Care Center as she pursues this career, acknowledging their wealth of expertise in medical financial systems. While Beth is indeed a unique individual, she is also an identical twin with her sister Leah and has another sister, Brynne. Beth continues to strengthen her family’s bond in new ways as her own family grows with her son, Daniel and her daughter, Isla.

In her life, both professionally and personally, human connection is very important to Beth. It comes as little surprise that spending time with her family and friends is one of her favorite things to do. Whenever possible, Beth sets out on camping trips to relax and reconnect with nature. For shorter excursions you can find Beth exploring new hiking trails or paddling new kayak passages throughout New England. Beth is an avid reader, and picks up a book whenever she can in-between all of her active moments.

Beth remained humble as she was awarded Employee of the Month, remarking: “I am extremely honored to have received this recognition! I am grateful for the relationships I have developed among the residents as well as the staff here at Westview Commons. Thank you all for my nomination!”

Donna Copeland, Westview Commons’ Executive Director, sees frequent examples of Beth providing delightful experiences to the residents dining in the Great Room of the independent and assisted living facility. “As soon as Beth approaches a table the smiles begin, and they remain on the resident’s faces throughout the meal.” Donna continued: “Beth is a big part of making sure that the delivery of our artfully crafted meals can exceed resident expectations every time.”
