Kirca Joins Westview Commons

April 19, 2021

Sandra Kirca, RN is pleased to bring over three decades of professional expertise in nursing care to Country Living at Westview Commons as the Nurse Supervisor of Assisted Living Services. By Sandy joining the brand new, state-of-the-art, 75-unit Independent and Assisted Living facility, Westview Commons strengthens its status as a premier destination for seniors in the quiet corner. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and continued to work in the field while adding to her degrees and specialties. Since becoming a Registered Nurse she has particularly focused her education and certifications on treating patients through home care and long-term nursing care. Prior to joining the Westview Commons staff in April, Sandy worked as a full-time Nurse Supervisor at Westview Health Care Center—the five-star rated nursing facility across the street.

A premier destination for seniors in the quiet corner ...

Sandy has lived in Killingly for most of her life. She is a proud graduate of Killingly High School and continued her educational and vocational paths at the Community College of Rhode Island; there earning her nursing degree. As the mother of two adult sons and owner of two affectionate dogs she is a natural nurturer. As Sandy states, her three-year-old German Shepherd “Leyna” and her nine-year-old Silky Terrier “Bella” keep her delightfully busy when she is away from her professional care setting. Additionally, she enjoys playing pool, winning at disk golf, and traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Her experiences visiting natural wonders like the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, constructed monuments like Mount Rushmore and the September 11th Memorials, and many, many stops along cross-country journeys are greatly valued in her life.

Sandy brings a high-degree of professional experience as well as eagerness to Country Living at Westview Commons. Her remarks evidence this enthusiasm:

“I love working with the elder generation in general. I love hearing their stories about living through epic periods in history. I find it very rewarding to help seniors learn more about their ailments, manage their complications, and ultimately recuperate and return to their normal lives. The knowledge they gain keeps them healthier in their own settings. I am excited about this new opportunity at Country Living at Westview Commons. It is a beautiful building! A lot of attention was given to details, the apartments are gorgeous with top of the line finishes, every day features gourmet dining, and the residents and staff combine to form such a wonderful group of people. This is the kind of setting I enjoy as a nurse. I look forward to getting to know each and every resident of Westview Commons. I hope they will all stop by my office located across from the Great Room to say hello!”

This is the kind of setting I enjoy as a nurse.

Now that she is joining us from Westview Health Care Center, I look forward to that five-star level of nursing expertise becoming a part of our offerings here.”
